2001 Toronto, ON
Master of Social Work (M.S.W.)
My Master of Social Work degree from the Faculty of Social Work at the University of Toronto was awarded in 2001. It was a two year degree. My Thesis topic was in the area of the patient's experience of chronic medical illness. My two internships focussed on 1) psychosocial aspects of chronic ilnesss and 2) community based individual and family therapy.

Baccalaureate of Arts (B.A.)
My B.A was earned from the University of British Columbia (1999). I majored in Philosophy and the focus of my work was existentialism. My unofficial minor was in Psychology.

Social Service Worker Certificate (S.S.W)
My Social Service Worker certificate (S.S.W.) was from Vancouver Community Colllege, now called Langara College. This program was an introduction to practicing in the Social Service sector. My internships focused on working with "at risk" and "street involved" youth in downtown Vancouver.

Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers: Registration Certifcate (RSW)
Since 2001 I have been a member in good standing with the CSWSSW. This registration means I can legally use the term RSW which stands for: Registered Social Worker.

2005 to present
Ontario Association of Social Workers (OASW): Member Certifcate
The Ontario Association of Social Workers (OASW) is the voice of social workers in Ontario. OASW is a voluntary, provincial, non-profit bilingual association for social workers. All practising members have a university degree in social work at the bachelor's, master's or doctoral level. Incorporated in 1964, OASW has over 3900 members and 15 branches across the province. Furthermore, it is one of the 10 provincial/territorial associations of social workers belonging to the Canadian Association of Social Workers which is, in turn, a member of the 78-nation International Federation of Social Workers. OASW speaks on behalf of the interests and concerns of social workers. OASW advocates for the improvement of social policies and programs directly affecting social work clients and social work practice, develops guidelines for professional practice, publishes a provincial newsmagazine and numerous branch newsletters, and provides direct services to its members. OASW members practise in accordance with the profession's code of ethics.

Nomination for Researcher of the Year Award at University Health Network Hospital (UHN)
I was nominated for a top reseasrch award in the Allied Health Department at the University Health Network (UHN) for outstanding contribution to patient foccused research and care.

Staff Scholarship: The University Health Newtwork (UHN)
This award allowed me to complete a course at the Univerity of Alberta International Qualitative Methodology Conference. I also presented a poster on living with home haemodialysis.
